• Early notice on sets about to be retired. Occasionally, the House of Staunton does discontinue lines of Chessmen. Examples of this include the Liberty Series, the Reykjavik '72 Series and the Windsor Series Chess Sets. When these items are discontinued, they are offered at a tremendous discount off their MSRP. • Early notice on sets about to be introduced. Each year, the House of Staunton introduces between 3-5 new lines of limited edition Chessmen. All of these limited edition series come with their own unique production number that distinguishes their set from the others produced. In terms of collectability, the lower the production number, the more collectable the item is.
